FRANK BARNES MENTOR AWARD
The Frank Barnes Mentor Award is an annual award given to a deserving executive, who has, like Frank Barnes, mentored many licensing executives. This year's award was presented to E.B. (Ted) Cross, Canadian Innovation Centre and E.B. Cross & Company, at the LES Annual Meeting in October 2007.
About the Award
Frank Barnes, Corporate Vice President at Abbott Labs, passed away in June 2000 after a long fight with cancer. Frank's contributions to Abbott through his in-licensing prowess are legendary- Blaxin, Depakote, Loftyl, and others, with annual sales of $2+ billion.
Aside from his financial impact for Abbott, Frank was known throughout the industry as one of the Deans of Pharma Licensing. He was an early supporter of LES in the Pharma industry. What is not perhaps understood, it that Frank mentored nearly twenty licensing executives, who have made important contributions throughout the Pharma Industry. Thus, his legacy continues.
To honor Frank, we are establishing an annual award, to be given to a deserving executive, who has, like Frank Barnes, mentored many licensing executives. This award will be given each year at the LES Annual Meeting.
If you would like to nominate someone, please send your nomination, along with a one-page summary as to why he/she is deserving to:
