Press Release: Segway Inventor Dean Kamen Shoots Down Myths about Innovation and Invention

About Foundation Day:

The 5th Annual Foundation Reception and Dinner, themed "Linking Innovation with Public Good," focused on the important role licensing plays in bridging the gap between the concept phase of an invention and its' eventual introduction to the marketplace where it becomes of benefit to the public.

Why:

"The LES Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about the critical role licensing plays in our everyday lives," said Dr. Richard Razgaitis, President of the LES Foundation.

Over the past 50 years we have seen countless groundbreaking inventions that have vastly improved millions of lives. Whether it is software, prescription drugs or electronics, each has been made available for public use through licensing agreements. We feel it is critical for the public to understand how important the process of effectively bringing these creative advances forward is for maintaining not only our standard of living, but also for ensuring the economic prosperity, security and competitive advantage of our country."
